A TEENAGE COMPETITOR. A KNIFE. 3 HORSES STABBED IN THEIR SLEEP. NOW PROSECUTORS WANT HER TRIED AS AN ADULT. At 2 a.m. on May 30, someone walked into the barn at South Point Equestrian Center in Las Vegas and stabbed three horses in their stalls during the NBHA Super Show. The horses belonged to Hailey Krahenbuhl, Arielle Phillips, and Keira Weisbart — barrel racers who’d brought their partners to compete that weekend. All three survived but couldn’t race. But what broke the entire community wasn’t just the act. It was who did it — and once the security footage came out, nobody could believe what they were seeing. The suspect was a fellow competitor. A teenage girl with access to the same barn. She was arrested at a nearby hotel, booked on 12 felony counts of animal cruelty and 3 counts of property destruction over $5,000. A GoFundMe has raised over $30,000 for the victims. This week, Clark County DA Steve Wolfson officially moved to have her tried as an adult.
